Andrew Spears is a senior finance and innovation executive with more than 20 years of experience across global banking, venture building, and technology-driven businesses. He brings deep expertise in strategy, governance, capital allocation, and scaling complex organizations within highly regulated environments.
Andrew is a Founding Partner at SoHi Partners, a venture capital firm focused on investing in innovative MedTech companies addressing systemic challenges in healthcare. He is also Managing Partner at Strut.Finance, where he leads strategy and product innovation.
Previously, Andrew held multiple senior leadership roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, including Executive Director. His career also includes senior roles at HSBC, where he led Global Trade and Receivables Finance products across the Asia-Pacific region, and Westpac, where he managed large corporate and institutional banking portfolios.
At Cartago Biotech, Andrew provides strategic oversight across governance, commercial strategy, and capital markets, supporting the company’s mission to advance innovative biotechnology solutions with meaningful clinical and commercial impact.
